Council acts to prevent possible breach of injunction at Hovefields plot
18 August 2017

Basildon Council has today reacted swiftly to reports of a breach of an injunction prohibiting development at a plot known as ‘Dunroamin’, in Hovefields Drive, Wickford.

Officers from the council’s planning enforcement team carried out a site visit this morning after receiving a report of activity on the plot.

Groundworks had begun to clear the site, possibly to create areas of hard standing.
The land in question is designated ‘green belt’ and no planning permission had been granted.

Officers advised the contractor and a person acting for the owner of the site of the existence of an injunction and enforcement notices preventing development of the land.

Copies of these documents were handed out and the serious consequences of committing a planning breach was explained.

Council officers will continue to monitor activities on site and would like to thank local residents for reporting this activity.
