Hearing date set following refusal of application to judicially review council’s decision
20 December 2017

An oral hearing date has been set in relation to the decision by a High Court Judge not to permit an application to judicially review Basildon Council’s decision not to determine a traveller’s planning application for a plot of land in Hovefields Avenue, Wickford.

The applicant, William Casey, has exercised his right to have this decision reconsidered at an oral hearing in relation a plot known as land adjacent to Jessomine.

The hearing has been listed for Tuesday 16 January, 2018 at the High Court.

The time of the hearing will be confirmed by the court the day before the hearing.

On Wednesday 29 November High Court judge, Robin Purchas QC agreed with the council’s argument that its decision was lawful.

The council had strongly contested William Casey’s application to judicially review the council’s decision.
