Council meets with residents association and MP over planning breaches at Hovefields
11 September 2017

Basildon Council councillors and officers met on Friday (8 September) with representatives from the Hovefields Residents Association and Mark Francois MP to discuss the council’s ongoing enforcement actions against unauthorised developments in the Hovefields Avenue/Drive area.

Following the meeting, Cllr Gavin Callaghan, Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, said: "We would like to thank the residents association and Mark Francois for coming to talk to us.

"This meeting was an opportunity for the residents to have their questions answered by councillors and senior officers over the continued action the council is taking, both in and out of court - to stop unauthorised development.

"I think it is fair to say that it was a good and robust exchange but I hope it reassured the residents that this administration will do everything possible to ensure that all available legal powers are brought to bear to tackle the problems."
